I have been a travel agent for over 10 years.Â Every time I meet someone and tell them about my job, the first question they ask is: â€˜How do I get the Best deals?â€�.

My first tip is always ‘use a travel agent’. Â Of course agents have all the ‘insider information’ and exclusive â€˜travel agent onlyâ€™ deals, but if you like doing things on your own, it’s pretty easy to follow three tips and get the deals on travel every time:

1. Book early (6 months to a year), 2. Get Group Rates (invite your friends and family) and 3. Take advantage of â€˜Wave Seasonâ€™.

January, February and March are the months us travel agents call â€˜Wave Seasonâ€™. Â That’s because every cruise line on the planet is passing out crazy travel deals, creating a wave of booking for the cruise industry. Â So if you like, or have dreamed about, catching waves out at sea, Itâ€™s time to book that cruise.Â Every travel agent knows these months of are the best way to grab deals on cruises for the upcoming year.Â All of us are crazy busy surfing the wave of phone calls and emails as a feeding frenzy for putting in that deposit early is one of the travel secrets for those â€˜in the knowâ€™.

Right now Norwegian Cruise Lineâ€™s “Get all 6” is getting a lot of attention. You can save up to $4,000 by adding these 6 (normally not included) items with your cruise: 1. Unlimited Open bar, 2. Specialty Dining, 3. Shore Excursions, 4. Wifi, 5. Friends and Family Sail Free, 6. Airfare.Â I quoted a family of 4 sharing a suite on a cruise to Greece, $3,500 per person.Â That is some serious savings!

Royal Caribbean has 60% off the second guest, Regent has a $500 shipboard credit, and Celebrity with â€˜pick 4 freeâ€™ 7 night Alaska cruises starting at $749 our person.Â Even River cruises are getting in the game with Uniworld offering 30% off on Europe River cruises including 10 days on the Rhine staring at $3,639 per person.Â

You can even pay a deposit and make payments, which makes it much easier, especially if you are booking a cruise for next year (yes, they have sailings available to book with these deals leaving in 2020!).Â Disney Cruises is offering 5% deposit (normally 10%), as part of itâ€™s â€˜Wave Seasonâ€™ fun. Â

But hurry, many of these deals will end by the end of February.Â So stop dreaming and start booking!

Disney World for Summer 2019

If you are looking more for a dream trip on land, not to worry, all the tour operators are getting on the action too.Â Probably the hottest ticket now is the always popular FREE DINING plan at Disney World.Â Select Resorts at Disney World are offering a free meal plan when you stay 5 nights and include a park hopper ticket.Â If you stay at one of the Deluxe Resorts you get a free deluxe dining meal which, is three meals and 2 snacks for anyone over 3. This is significant savings and it includes room service and pizza delivery!

They also have 20% off select resorts if you stay anytime between now and April 27, 2019 or 25% off rooms at Disneyland if you travel March – April 2019, or 30% of Aulani in Hawaii.

Do if your vacation dreams include the little ones, Disney has the hottest deals right now for Spring Break or Summer vacations.

Cruises and Disney are the most popular requests during wave season, but the other land operators don’t want to be left out of the game either.Â If you ever wanted to book that trip to Japan, or head out down under to New Zealand or Australia, or finally get out the Blue Lagoon in Iceland, now would be a good time to book. Globus is having 7.5% off on all North America, South America and Europe.Â Insight vacations has 5% off USA and Canada. Tauck is offering air discount on select European tours.Â But if group tours are not your thing, you can always take advantage of the 65% off Excellence resorts in Mexico or the Caribbean and $600 dining credit at select resorts like Fairmont Maui.Â Hawaii here I come!

As always, I recommend using a travel agent like myself.Â Travel agents often have access to or can find these specials since we spend all day quoting and booking people just like you.Â While writing this article I had difficulty finding these specials to link to, so find your favorite travel agent and see if they can grab you a dream deal right now.Â So if you don’t hear back quickly from your favorite Travel Agent, they are probably snowed under a wave of quotes and email requests!Â
