Ready for Spring Break? If you are a savvy traveler you booked that trip a year ago! But for those of you who didnâ€™t, here are some tips for a last minute getaway!

Hot Cruise Deals

March is part of what us travel agents call ‘Wave Season’. The best deals are dished out during the crucial period of January – March every year, when 70% of the population book their travel. Â I was asked if there are any good ‘last minute deals’ for Spring Break 2019, and I found good deals were very hard to find. Â Most cruises 7 days or shorter were sold out. You can find a few out of Miami, including Cuba cruises. But book fast or you will be stuck with an inside cabin!

The best cruise deals in March 2019? Spring 2020!Â Super discounts and deals are abundant. My suggestion is make a small deposit on next yearâ€™s Spring Break and make payments or pay the final balance in December. Yes, working with a travel agent you can finance that package for no interest!

Royal Caribbean has a 30% off sale, for all cruises with availability in 2019, but bookings must be paid by the end of March.

Holland America has amazing specials on South Pacific and Hawaii cruises. starting as low as $1,109 per person from San Diego to San Diego in March 2020.

Luxury Cruises are even getting in on the action with Seabourn offering $1000 on board credit and Silversea Cruises with up to 10% off.

So if you didnâ€™t book a vacation this Spring Break, do a staycation that includes planning your 2019 summer, fall, or winter trip!

Disney World & Disneyland Deals

Â This year is no exception as availability for the next two weeks is limited. Â There are a few high end luxury category rooms available for $1,200/night. Â Airline tickets are outrageous now, with flights into Orlando averaging $600 per person from Houston during the week. Â Weekend flights are showing $800 per person and up. Â Another reason to book a vacation in advance, airfare is always more expensive when booked 14 days in advance or less.

Disneyland still had some discount deals with their ‘good neighbor’ hotels.Â These are a collection of budget to moderate hotels in Anaheim and offer free transport to the Disneyland park. Â I found an available Marriott for a family suite for four at $1800 for the week including a 3 day park hopper pass. Â Airline tickets are a minimum of $600 per person, so unless you have points to burn, I recommend taking advantage of Disneyâ€™s deals for a summer getaway.

Escorted Tours & Small Group Journeys

Probably the best deals I have seen this month are small group journeys, where even an ultra luxuryÂ tour can be had for serious discounts.

Insight Vacations has luxury tours departing April – September with up to $2,000 off per couple. Â You can even reserve a Luxury Gold Journey for 2020 with a $200 deposit and get 10% off the published prices when they come out in May 2019.

Globus Journeys has almost every destination on sale, with some including free airfare.

Packages to Mexico & the Caribbean

The absolute best last minute deals I have seen for March are all inclusive packages to Mexico and the Caribbean.

Many five star hotels in Mexico are offering up to 50% off.

There were a few all inclusive packages at Breathless and SecretsÂ resorts starting at $1500 for the week including airfare! Some resorts had up to $600 in extras added into packages as well.

So grab that tax refund and get booking!
